Nerds and Beyond
Nerds and Beyond is an online magazine covering every nerdy topic from The Avengers to Disney to Supernatural. As a senior staff writer and editor, I write daily and weekly episode recaps, trailer announcements, and more. I also use Wordpress to manage the content written by other writers. Additionally, I have conducted several interviews with Supernatural cast members and successful Youtubers and attended several comic conventions under press credentials to cover the event and interview actors such as Tom Felton and Jackson Rathbone.
Freelance Bylines
Throughout 2020, I have used my newfound extra time to freelance in the world of pop culture journalism. I have written for The Mary Sue and Nerdist, and I look forward to pitching and finding new opportunities throughout 2021.
Random Acts
With a mission to make the world a better place, Random Acts works around the world to change lives through one act of kindness at a time. From July 2018 to June 2019, I worked on the first staff writing team for the organization, promoting upcoming fundraisers and events. I also wrote "Kindness Stories" reporting on volunteers and other projects performed through Random Acts to show donors and friends of the organization the great work the organization does around the globe.
MyHMS
MyHMS is an internal newsletter provided to the Harvard Medical School community. During my internship I interviewed three new members of the HMS administration and wrote an article based on the interview so that the HMS community could get to know them better. Because MyHMS is only available on an internal website, two of the articles are linked below.
HerCampus
Her Campus is a national online magazine by college students and for college students. As a staff writer, I contribute weekly articles to the Simmons Her Campus chapter include entertainment news and reviews, listicles, and more. In just one semester our chapter rose to the top 20% of campus chapters. An article I co-wrote, "An Introduction to Asexuality and Aromantism: Valentine's Day," won an honorable mention from Her Campus National for Best Feature Article, and HerCampus Simmons won the Rookie of the Year Award.
The Simmons Voice
The Simmons Voice is the weekly newspaper at Simmons College. From 2016 - 2017 I regularly contributed articles to the News, Features, and Arts and Entertainment sections. In the fall of 2017 I covered the updates to the Simmons Dining Services and the Simmons community response to them, and these articles ran on the front page.
